Safety and Regulatory Information¶
This page contains general safety and regulatory information for ArtiLED products. Read this information before installing, wiring, servicing, or using an ArtiLED product.
Important
ArtiLED products are intended to be installed and configured by qualified resellers, installers, or technically competent users. If you are not sure how to install or power a product safely, stop and contact ArtiLED or your reseller.
Intended use¶
ArtiLED products are designed for use in indoor lighting and control installations. They may be used as part of a system containing ArtiLED controllers, LED lighting, audio/video processors, control processors, power supplies, network equipment, and installer-provided wiring.
Use each product only for its intended ArtiLED function and within the electrical, environmental, and installation limits documented for that product.
General safety warnings¶
- Read the manual before installation or use.
- Keep the manual available for future reference.
- Use only suitable cables, connectors, power supplies, LED strips, and accessories.
- Do not use a product if the enclosure, cable, connector, or power supply is damaged.
- Disconnect power before wiring, opening an enclosure, changing connections, or servicing the installation.
- Stop using the product immediately and disconnect power if it overheats, smells unusual, emits smoke, shows visible damage, has liquid ingress, or behaves abnormally.
- Do not modify the product unless the modification is explicitly approved by ArtiLED.
- Do not allow children to install, wire, open, or service ArtiLED equipment.
Electrical safety¶
- Use only the specified input voltage and polarity for the product.
- Use only CE-marked power supplies with suitable voltage, current, power rating, and protection characteristics.
- ArtiLED-supplied power supplies are selected from CE-marked Meanwell power supplies where applicable.
- Do not exceed the maximum current, LED load, or output rating of the product.
- Avoid connecting or disconnecting high-current LED wiring while the system is powered.
- Prevent short circuits on LED outputs, power outputs, and supply wiring.
- Use correct wire gauge, strain relief, fusing/protection, and enclosure practices for the installation.
- Mains-voltage wiring, internal power-supply work, and fixed electrical installation work must only be performed by qualified persons.
Power supplies and product variants¶
Some ArtiLED products or variants use an external low-voltage power supply. Other variants may contain an internal power supply.
- Products with an external power supply must only be used with a suitable CE-marked external supply.
- Products with an internal power supply must not be opened by end users.
- If an internal-power-supply product is damaged or suspected to be faulty, disconnect it from mains power and contact ArtiLED or your reseller.
Installation and ventilation¶
- Install products in a stable, dry, and accessible location.
- Provide sufficient ventilation around enclosures and power supplies.
- Do not cover ventilation openings.
- Do not install near heat sources or in locations where heat cannot dissipate.
- Do not install where conductive dust, metal particles, moisture, dripping water, or condensation can enter the product.
- Use appropriate mounting hardware and cable strain relief.
Indoor and dry-location use¶
Unless the product-specific manual or enclosure rating explicitly states otherwise, ArtiLED products are intended for indoor, dry-location use only.
Do not expose products to rain, outdoor weather, high humidity, water splashes, or liquid spills unless the complete installation is specifically designed and rated for that environment.
Service and repair¶
- There are no user-serviceable parts inside ArtiLED products unless a product-specific manual explicitly states otherwise.
- Do not open internal-power-supply products while connected to mains power.
- Repairs must be performed by ArtiLED, an authorised reseller, or a technically qualified person approved by ArtiLED.
- Use only replacement parts, modules, and power supplies that meet the original specification.
Cleaning and maintenance¶
- Disconnect power before cleaning.
- Use a dry or slightly damp soft cloth.
- Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or sprays.
- Do not allow liquid to enter the enclosure, connectors, or power supply.
Disposal and recycling / WEEE¶
Do not dispose of electrical and electronic equipment with unsorted household waste. Dispose of ArtiLED products, power supplies, and electronic accessories through appropriate electrical/electronic waste collection or recycling channels in accordance with local regulations.
Where applicable, the crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol indicates that the product must be collected separately from household waste.
EU country-specific WEEE/EPR registration notes¶
The EU WEEE Directive is implemented through national systems. This means registration, reporting, take-back and recycling-financing obligations can differ per country, even inside the EU. ArtiLED and/or the reseller/importer should verify the applicable national obligations before actively offering ArtiLED equipment in a country.
Germany: electrical and electronic equipment placed on the German market may require producer registration under the German ElektroG/WEEE system before it is offered for sale. Registration is handled through Stiftung EAR and is linked to the producer, brand and type of equipment. Foreign producers may need an authorised representative located in Germany.
Spain: electrical and electronic equipment placed on the Spanish market may require producer or authorised-representative registration in the RII-AEE register under the Spanish WEEE/RAEE system.
Do not treat the presence of a CE mark or this manual text as a substitute for national WEEE/EPR registration where that registration is required.
CE / EU Declaration of Conformity¶
ArtiLED products are designed for use within ArtiLED lighting and control installations and are supplied using CE-marked components and power supplies where applicable.
ArtiLED B.V. declares under its sole responsibility that the relevant ArtiLED products are intended to comply with applicable European Union requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, electrical safety where applicable, and restriction of hazardous substances.
The current ArtiLED EU Declaration of Conformity is available at:

Radio equipment¶
Current ArtiLED products do not use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or other radio equipment. Do not add radio modules or wireless transmitters to an ArtiLED product unless this is explicitly approved by ArtiLED and the applicable regulatory requirements are reviewed.
RoHS¶
ArtiLED products are designed using components and assemblies selected to support compliance with EU restrictions on hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Supplier and component traceability is maintained internally where applicable.
